Our story

Founded in 2020 by Schalk Oosthuizen, Local Projects Namibia has garnered the attention of homemakers and various industries from across the country.

Local Projects Namibia started as a small family project, when Schalk built a cot for his newborn girl. Friends noticed the practical style and sturdy quality, and private commissions started becoming the norm for various types of furniture.

As orders started increasing by word of mouth, a studio was established at Schalk’s home in Windhoek. Today, the studio employs 4 Namibians, 3 of who lost their jobs during the Covid 19 restrictions of 2020.

Local Projects Namibia is constantly expanding its repertoire and aims to build good quality furniture that can last for years.
